How eRecording Works
Electronic recording eliminates the delays and uncertainty of physical document submission. Here's how our process works from start to finish:
Create a free account at our portal — setup takes just minutes and there is no charge to register.
Place a recording order to generate a tracking number and billing record for your submission.
Receive your order confirmation via email immediately after placing your order.
Mail your original documents to our processing office at: 901 Corporate Center Dr., Ste. 400, Monterey Park, CA 91754.
We handle the rest. Once originals arrive, our team verifies accuracy, scans the documents, and submits them directly to the appropriate county recorder.
Get notified instantly. You'll receive an email when your document is recorded (with a link to the stamped digital copy) or rejected (with the reason and required corrections spelled out clearly).

Frequently Asked Questions
What payment methods are accepted? We accept credit cards and ACH checking (subject to approval). Debit cards are not accepted. County recording fees are advanced by Direct eRecording and charged upon completion of the order using the payment method on file. Payment receipts and itemized invoices are emailed to the accounting contact of your choice.
How quickly will my document be recorded? Most counties process electronically submitted documents on the same day they are received during normal business hours. In practice, the majority of documents are returned within 48 hours — often sooner.
Are there any recurring or membership fees? No. There are no monthly fees, subscriptions, or memberships. You pay a one-time service fee per eRecording order, plus the county's actual recording fees.
When is the recording date assigned? The official recording date is the date the document is processed by the county recorder clerk, which can range from the same day submitted to up to 72 hours later depending on the county.
Can I record multiple documents in a single order? Yes. Multiple documents may be submitted in one order as long as they relate to the same property (APN) or case number. Each document must be uploaded as a separate attachment, and you may specify the order in which you want them recorded.
Are Preliminary Change of Ownership Reports (PCORs) or Transfer Tax Affidavits recordable documents? No — these are not recordable documents but should be uploaded as a separate attachment within the same order so they are submitted alongside the recordable instrument.
What happens if my document is rejected? You will receive an email notification immediately upon rejection that explains the reason and the corrections required. Direct eRecording's service fee applies regardless of outcome, as our work (verification, scanning, and submission) is completed either way.
